Jewellery at the fair
As usual, for the 4th consecutive year, from the 5th to the 7th december 2008 the edition "Geo Shop" of the Verona Mineral Show will take place at the Verona Fair. At the winter edition there will be a lot of semi precious stones, gemstones and jewellery, which will give an image of the fashion trends for the year 2009 concerning the clothing accessories. Approximately 200 firms will be at this prestigious fair and they will represent more than15 nations that will exhibit the best of their production concerning gems, hand-crafted golden and silver jewellery or in other "less precious" metals, minerals, fossils, collection shells; moreover, a big department will be dedicated to the "do-it-yourself": as a matter of fact, some jewellery firms will give to the many women visitors, and not only women, a chance to create some real jewellery with their own hands and with their own fancy.
From the forseeings of the designers of the field outcrops that, also for this year, Onyx and Crystal Quartz will be the most sold, leaving, as usual, to Pearls and Corals the higher market niche; Lapis is always on the light decline, altough the charming blue stone seems to show revival marks. "Forget-me-not" seems to be the laconic and concerned appeal of the Amber, other famous gem on the decline, maybe because of the numerous imitations in syntetic resin or even in plastic, that discourage the buyers, even tough a jewel with the famous blu amber of Santo Domingo is always wonderful and much-sought. Concerning the gemstones, the process of the Diamond cannot be stopped, as it is a stone of rare beauty and it's a good investment; unexpectedly the Sapphire in its numerous colourings recovers, with a hike in prices of the unprocessed stones, and in the same way also the Ruby recovers, whereas the Emerald shows light waekness marks. Queen of the semiprecious stones is the Aquamarine, for years the most sold gem of this part of the market .
We remind the visitors, that, in order to give them an accurate assistance, there will be the stand of the Istituto Gemmologico Italiano, international and nationwide appreciated analisys laboratory, that will give free advices about gems. As usual, to great delight of minerals and fossils collectors also hundreds of samples of rare beauty will be found among the different types of jewellery The Associazione Geologica Mineralogica Veronese will be there with a stand and will give children, while stocks last, nice minerals samples.
During the three exhibition days the fair will have for the public an all-day opening from 9 to 18.
